En 2020, Pierre Lenert a fondé le Duo Lenert-Hirose, réunissant deux artistes aux qualités musicales hors du commun. Etsuko Hirose et Pierre Lenert s'étaient rencontrés grâce aux Sonates opus 120 de Brahms en 2015 ; leur entente et leur complicité étaient alors apparues comme évidentes. Leur premier disque, « Passion », s'épanouit naturellement autour de ces deux chefs-d'œuvre.
In 2020 Pierre Lenert founded the Duo Lenert-Hirose, bringing together two artists of uncommon musical gifts. Etsuko Hirose and Pierre Lenert had met through Brahms's op. 120 sonatas in 2015; their understanding and complicity were immediately self-evident. Their first album, "Passion", grew naturally around these two masterpieces.
En 2015, il a également créé le Lenert-Fantasy-Group, formé de musiciens aux qualités humaines exceptionnelles. Reprenant des chefs-d'œuvre nés autour du répertoire lyrique, Pierre Lenert a voulu partager un programme original allant d'Aznavour à Trenet et Brassens, dans des arrangements inédits de Frédéric Sans et Régis Prudhomme.
In 2015 he also created the Lenert-Fantasy-Group, formed of musicians of exceptional human qualities. Drawing on masterpieces born of the operatic repertoire, he wanted to share an original programme ranging from Aznavour to Trenet and Brassens, in previously unheard arrangements by Frédéric Sans and Régis Prudhomme.

Pierre Lenert est actuellement le seul altiste en Europe à avoir relevé le défi d'enregistrer les 24 Caprices de Niccolò Paganini à l'alto, chez Paraty, depuis l'intégrale interprétée par Emanuel Vardi en 1965 chez Epic.
Pierre Lenert is currently the only violist in Europe to have taken up the challenge of recording Niccolò Paganini's 24 Caprices on the viola — for Paraty — since the complete set performed by Emanuel Vardi for Epic in 1965.
Sa discographie comporte l'intégrale de l'œuvre pour alto et piano d'Henri Vieuxtemps, ainsi que plusieurs disques-récital consacrés à la musique de Carl Reinecke, Niccolò Paganini, Felix Mendelssohn, Georges Enesco, Jean Françaix, Darius Milhaud, Clara Schumann, Johannes Brahms et Joseph Joachim.

Sa rencontre avec Yehudi Menuhin fut déterminante : sous sa direction, il interpréta Harold en Italie de Berlioz et le Concerto de Bartók, et devint soliste de sa Fondation. Pierre Lenert est aussi lauréat de la Fondation Philip Morris et de grands concours internationaux : Lionel Tertis, Markneukirchen et Maurice Vieux.
His meeting with Yehudi Menuhin proved decisive: under his baton he performed Berlioz's Harold in Italy and Bartók's Concerto, and became a soloist of his Foundation. He is also a laureate of the Philip Morris Foundation and of major international competitions: Lionel Tertis, Markneukirchen and Maurice Vieux.
Pierre Lenert est directeur artistique du Festival international de musique de chambre « Sérénade » ainsi que du festival « Le Goût de la Musique ». Il est professeur à l'École Normale de Musique Alfred-Cortot et au CRR de Créteil. Avec les éditions Billaudot, il a réalisé l'adaptation des Caprices de Niccolò Paganini à l'alto, couplée d'une méthode de travail destinée à guider les jeunes générations dans leur étude.
Pierre Lenert is Artistic Director of the "Sérénade" International Chamber Music Festival and of the "Le Goût de la Musique" Festival. He teaches at the École Normale de Musique Alfred-Cortot and at the CRR de Créteil. With Éditions Billaudot, he has produced an adaptation of Paganini's Caprices for the viola, coupled with a working method designed to guide younger generations in their study.
